In February 2000, nine-year-old Asha Degree vanished from her home in Shelby, North Carolina in the middle of the night. Multiple drivers reported seeing a small child walking along Highway 18 in the rain, but before anyone could reach her, she disappeared.
More than two decades later, Asha’s case remains one of the most haunting unsolved child disappearances in the United States. In this episode, we walk through the timeline of that night, the eyewitness sightings, and the clues investigators are still trying to piece together.
Asha was so young with a bright future ahead of her that would have been bigger than the whole sky; her story is one that deserves answers.
